Feng Shui

“Barbara is a true professional who loves what she does and enjoys helping people. She imparts authentic knowledge and passion for the art and science of Feng Shui. She has been the Feng Shui Design Consultant for our corporate office, winery and townhouse.”
Ron Rubin, The Republic of Tea

  • Are you a Building Owner who doesn’t want to ‘scare off’ potential Asian tenants due to easily avoidable building features?
  • Or are you an Architect or Interior Designer whose client (with any project type or size) has asked for Feng Shui but you are worried that bringing in a Feng Shui Consultant will set your project back in terms of design, schedule and budget?
  • Or do you believe that a 4,000 year-old tradition whose goal is enhancing people’s personal and professional lives must include some kernels of truth to have lasted the test of time; so why NOT incorporate those design concepts in your home or workplace to benefit yourself, your family and/or your staff?

Barbara is a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner who helps building owners, their architects and interior designers incorporate both Compass School and Black Sect (BTB) Feng Shui design concepts within their design process. Her Feng Shui services are highly customized to meet your specific project concerns and goals – and may or may not include identifiable Feng Shui imagery depending upon your own design style.

    Feng Shui Education
She studied Feng Shui with Vincent Smith, Alex Stark, Roger Green and Yahsa Jampolsky, and Sacred Geometry with Michael Rice and Richard Feather Anderson. She is a graduate of The Golden Gate School of Feng Shui in Marin County, California and is a member of The International Feng Shui Guild.

Ancient Feng Shui theory was formed by observing the natural world with the belief that when we duplicate the patterns and relationships found in the most nurturing environments in nature within our built-environments – then our lives will be healthier.

“Despite its pragmatic aspects, feng shui is in a sense a Rosetta Stone linking man and his environment, ancient ways and modern life. Feng Shui is the key to understanding the silent dialogue between man and nature, whispered through the cosmic breath – ch’i.”
Sarah Rossbach, Feng Shui: The Chinese Art of Placement

Barbara’s Feng Shui Projects include numerous Corporate and Professional Offices, a 40-story Apartment Complex, San Francisco Metropolitan’s Chinatown Transit Station, The San Francisco Furniture Mart, a Sonoma Winery, Medical Centers for Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health, The Mayways Company, Silicon Valley Offices and Tech Center for Baidu, a KQED Stage Set for Jacques Pepin, and many single family homes on the West Coast.

Barbara co-authored Feng Shui: A Practical Guide for Architects and Designers with Vincent Smith as part of Kaplan’s Professional Management Series.

Her article on the same topic appeared in Medical Construction and Design Magazine in August 2006. She was the Feng Shui design expert in the “Ask the Experts” column for Pure Contemporary online Magazine.

“AECOM has consulted with Barbara on three major medical centers. She worked with our design teams to apply her nature-based environmental psychology research into wonderfully successful outcomes with each project. We have effectively applied the concepts described in her new book, Flooring Psychology, and feel that the time spent with Barbara has enhanced how we think as architects, or more importantly, how we can stop thinking like architects for a period and take on the viewpoint of the real end users and people who will occupy these spaces. Collaborating with Barbara has been a pleasure and I look forward to our next endeavor.”
Thomas Thompson, Associate Principal, Healthcare Studio Leader, AECOM

"Quantifiable Data: Firms able to demonstrate to their clients that the impact of what they design can be objectively measured will have a leg up on the competition."
